Wax Poetics x Mother Tongue

Record Artwork

Description

For Wax Poetics, the music magazine and label, Patrick Gibin recorded a secret vinyl mix in Verona in January 2025, pressed by Mother Tongue as a single one-of-a-kind copy and raffled to Wax Poetics readers.

A one-off record called for a one-off cover. I drew the sleeve by hand, a line drawing of Patrick's own studio with its decks and record shelves, finished with brush lettering in the Mother Tongue yellow. The back carries the details, handwritten: where and when the mix was recorded, who pressed it, and who drew it.

No print run, no files to send to a printer: just pen, brush and one sleeve.
